How to Be Single Casts Dakota Johnson, Leslie Mann, Dan Stevens, Rebel Wilson

Much-anticipated romantic comedy slated for Valentine’s Day release next year

New Line Cinema has entered negotiations with Rebel Wilson, Leslie Mann, Dakota Johnson and Dan Stevens to star in the upcoming romantic comedy How to Be Single.

The movie will reportedly explore topics like blind dating and casual sex to suggest that our lives are not defined by our relationships, but rather the single times in between, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The 25-year-old Johnson is a rising star and the lead actress for the highly anticipated 50 Shades of Grey movie adaptation scheduled for release next month.

Wilson, 28, has starred in a number of comedy roles, most notably as Fat Amy in the Pitch Perfect movies and roommate Becky in the 2011 hit comedy Bridesmaids.

Comedic veteran Mann, 42, was last seen in the 2014 flick The Other Woman.

Fans of Downton Abbey will certainly recognized Stevens — the 32-year-old Englishman played the part of lawyer Matthew Crawley on the hit television drama.

How to Be Single, based off the novel written by Liz Tucillo, is slated to be released around Valentine’s Day 2016.

Dakota Johnson is yet to see Fifty Shades of Grey

Despite a release date that’s just three weeks away, none of the stars of “Fifty Shades of Grey” have seen the much anticipated movie.

That’s according to Marcia Gay Harden, who plays Christian Grey’s mother, Dr. Grace Trevelyan Grey.

“The director is letting the cast see the movie but not right now,” Marcia told Access Hollywood on the red carpet at the Artios Awards in Beverly Hills last night.

“I’m going to see it right before the fans do… but this is a movie that is protected,” the 55-year-old actress explained. “It’s like they’ve got a chastity belt around the movie itself.”

As fans of the books know, Grace isn’t Christian’s biological mother, but rather the woman who took him in after his birth mother passed away.

Though it’s not frequently discussed in the erotic novel, Marcia says her character definitely approves of Anastasia Steele, her son’s girlfriend.

“Mama Grey loves her!” she raved. “She is really, really smart … very refined, very elegant and I think she loves that there is this wholesome girl for Christian. I mean she has probably seen him with a lot of uptight little blonde types.”

“Fifty Shades of Grey” hits theaters February 13.

In A Relationship (Short Film) starring Dakota Johnson

Directed by Sam Boyd, the nineteen-minute short is a raw look into the private lives of two couples—one in the early stages of their romance, the other stuck in the middle of a rut—through a mockumentary-style lens.

Inspired by Woody Allen’s classic, Husbands and Wives, and a recent frustration with the lack of depth in many romantic comedies, Boyd tried to create a film that showed an honest depiction of young love today. “I thought it was funny that romantic comedies were always about these made-up problems. ‘I met the perfect guy but, oh no, it turns out he’s a ghost! How is this ever going to work?’ ” Boyd says over the phone from Los Angeles. “The idea with In a Relationship was to dig deep into the things that really hinder romantic happiness.” As for the fortuitous timing of casting Johnson right before she signed on to play one of fiction’s most infamous heroines, Boyd is nothing but grateful. “When I found out she got the part, I thought, there’s no way she’s going to do it,” he explains. “It was so cool for her to do this huge movie and still be game to do this little thing with us.”

New ‘Anarchy’ Trailer + Screencaps

If you watched Sons of Anarchy but sometimes thought, “Not enough Shakespeare,” then you’re in luck. Anarchy, the recently retitled film that was Cymbeline when it premiered at the Venice Film Festival in September, is a modern-day take on the Bard’s play about jealousy, love, and betrayal in the titular British king’s court.

In the film, Ed Harris plays the king of a drug-dealing biker gang, and his daughter’s unsanctioned romance with one of his top soldiers sets off the powder-keg that leads to tragedy. Dakota Johnson and Penn Badgley play the young couple, Imogen and Posthumus, and Ethan Hawke—who’s updated Shakespeare before, with 2000’s Hamlet—plays Iachimo, the treacherous cad who bets Posthumus that he can seduce Imogen.

Written and directed by Michael Almereyda (Hamlet), Anarchy opens in theaters and VOD on March 13. Watch the Trailer Here.
